Graduated and holding a Master’s degree in Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, she presented her dissertation entitled “Single Adoption as a Life Project for Children in Residential Care”.
She also holds postgraduate qualifications in Family, Children and Succession Law, as well as in Divorce, Inventory Proceedings and Asset Division, from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon.
A firm advocate of continuous professional development, Joana believes that the constant updating of legal knowledge is essential in order to provide an excellent service to her clients.
From the very beginning of her professional career, she has demonstrated sensitivity and commitment towards the promotion and protection of Children’s Rights, recognising the importance of these areas in building a fairer and more humane society.
With this vision, she directed her legal practice towards matters related to Children Law, Family Law and Succession Law.
She participated in the colloquium “Convention on the Rights of the Child” and in the First Conference on Child Protection.
In 2026, she co-founded the law firm Legal Ties, where she continues to focus her practice on the aforementioned areas of law.
