Lawyer Joana Moreira Magalhães participated, as a guest speaker, in the television programme “Caixa de Pandora”, broadcast by Saúde Mais TV, dedicated to the topic of parental alienation.
Throughout the discussion, several of the main legal and emotional issues associated with this reality were addressed, namely what parental alienation is - and is not -, the impact of parental conflict on children, the instrumentalisation of children in the context of family disputes, the child’s right to be heard, the role of the courts and technical teams, as well as the importance of early and specialised intervention in safeguarding the child’s best interests.
